At Live Young Wellness Spa in Flower Mound and Castle Hills, not a day goes by where we don’t work with people who really want to get rid of their double chin. And it’s easy to see why — after all, that extra layer of flabby skin is nearly impossible to get rid of, no matter how much you diet, exercise, and take care of your skin.
Kybella injectables are quickly becoming the miracle treatment that solves this common issue. But during our initial consultations, we’re often asked what the difference is between Kybella and chin liposuction.
Kybella and chin liposuction give you the sculpted look you deserve. But they are considerably different procedures.
3 Key Differences Between Kybella and Chin Liposuction
1. Kybella is non-surgical
Kybella is a revolutionary FDA-approved injectable solution (think Botox, fillers, etc.) specifically designed to target and melt away chin fat within a matter of weeks. It can do this because it is a patented, synthetic version of a molecule that our bodies naturally produce. As we age, it becomes more difficult for the body to effectively eliminate these fat areas like it once could. Kybella simply reintroduces this process back to your body so that it can go back to performing the same metabolic functions it was doing before.
While Kybella and other injectables are minimally-invasive, chin liposuction is surgical. It calls for creating incisions on the patient’s chin to remove the fat that’s causing a double chin. Live Young Wellness Spa offers Kybella injectables. If a patient wants liposuction, our team at Flower Mound Plastic Surgery can help.
2. Kybella has no downtime. Chin liposuction does
A key benefit to Kybella treatments over chin liposuction is that they only take roughly 15 to 20 minutes and require zero downtime. You may notice some swelling and possibly mild bruising and redness after a Kybella treatment, but most patients report no issues within a few hours or days.
Because chin liposuction is surgery and requires anesthesia, there is a recovery period that could vary from patient to patient. Every patient will experience swelling and bruising, but most people fully recover after a week.
3. Kybella results occur over time
The results from chin liposuction can be seen immediately vs. those from Kybella. But while Kybella injectables need time to break down and eliminate the fat cells in your chin, the results are permanent because your body will no longer reproduce fat cells in that area.
Live Young Wellness Spa in Flower Mound and Castle Hills is excited to offer the best in-house professionals and products for all things related to Kybella and other injectables and dermal fillers in Frisco, Plano, Carrollton, and Lewisville. When skillfully injected, the results should be a reduction in the excess fat beneath your chin, all while going over the top to enhance and redefine your features and rejuvenate your skin in ways you never thought possible.
Perfect candidates for this procedure include anyone who has a double chin and doesn’t want to undergo an invasive procedure such as chin liposuction.
