Daxxify is an FDA-approved neurotoxin created by Revance. Daxxify is injected into muscles to relax them which in turn treats dynamic lines and wrinkles that can form with facial expression. Like any neurotoxin, Daxxify is less effective for deep-set lines and texture changes. Daxxify is similar to other neurotoxins (such as Botox and Dysport) in the mechanism of action in terms of decreasing muscle movement and improving dynamic wrinkles. How does Daxxify differ from others?
Daxxify is the only long-lasting frown line treatment powered by a peptide. Other manufacturers use human serum albumin or cow’s milk protein to stabilize botulinum toxin type A. This is the active ingredient in injectable wrinkle treatments. Daxxify is the only formulation to contain a peptide and does not rely on human serum albumin or cow’s milk protein.
What is the treatment like?
A Daxxify treatment typically takes just a few minutes to complete, most treatments take between five and fifteen minutes. Most patients do not require topical numbing to ensure a comfortable treatment because of the tiny needle. Once your treatment is over, you can immediately carry on with your schedule. The product will start to take effect over a few days, with full effect taking up to 2 weeks.
How long does Daxxify last?
Daxxify results have been shown to last for about 6 months, but some patients noticed their results lasted up to 9 months. This results in having patients come in less throughout the year since it lasts longer! How awesome is that?!
